Lifelong Sex and Desire

It has been said again and again that sex and desire have a strong lure because it is biological, feels good, and is taboo. "It was not that Adam ate the apple for the apple's sake, but because it was forbidden." Mark Twain

As we know, the actual purpose of sexual intercourse is to populate the earth with our species. The act gives us pleasure so that we want to do it. Still , why such a strong compulsion for many, and why does this urge linger for so many years past the age when we are capable of producing offspring?

One Hypothesis

I think that because we eat an abundance of cooked foods, our bodies react as though we are dying . Whenever we eat a cooked food, our white blood cell level increases as though something foreign has entered our body. When we eat raw fruits and vegetables, the white blood cell count doesn't elevate. It will also remain stable if we eat a raw food before a cooked food, like a salad before a soup.

As we know, our white blood cells fight off invasion of harmful substances in our bodies. When we get sick, our white blood count is higher. So, when we eat more cooked food than raw every day, our white blood cell count tells our body we are being invaded, daily. I think our body reacts by increasing our normal desire to spread our seed or reproduce. (Remember, we, and our domesticated animals, are the only creatures on earth that cook our food. We alone think we should try to improve upon what nature has provided for us.)

What We Eat Affects Everything

This cooked food invasion continues into old age. Thanks, in part, to the miracle of modern medicine and improved operations, we live longer. Unless the drugs kill our desire, we still feel the urge to engage in coitus. And, thanks to modern medicine, again, we can make our body perform these acts. This strong desire for lifelong sex and desire, I speculate, results from our body perceiving us as dying soon , as a reaction to the abundance of cooked food we eat, then the increase in white blood cell count that follows.

Exercise and Health

Basis of my Hypothesis

Observing my plants, led me to my conclusions. Scientists have recently informed us that we are 60% genetically similar to plants. When I forget to water my spider plants, they start dying and produce babies. Any farmer will tell you that plants go to seed at the end of their season. Look at the dandelion in your back yard. Before it dies, it forms a cottony ball of seeds that blow in the wind to spread its DNA.

What Doctors Say

When the government started to encourage Americans to exercise more in the 1980's, Dr. Norman W. Walker, D.Sc. expressed concern. He worried that people's health would suffer. What? Yes, exercise is a positive thing that does improve our health, but our bodies have to have enough of the right nourishment to expend more energy in order to exercise.

When we eat mostly cooked foods, our bodies have to draw enzymes from our bodies to digest those foods. Raw foods practically digest themselves in the stomach because they arrive with enzymes intact. Foods don't replace our enzymes, and according to one study sited in Enzyme Nutrition by Dr. Edward Howell, we are born with a certain number of enzymes; when they are gone, we die.

In conclusion, based on sex and desire: one hypothesis, including more raw fruits and vegetables in everyone's daily diet could mean fewer sex crimes, less infidelity, fewer Congressmen caught in scandals, and more energy available for other projects. Maybe our lifelong sex and desire urges would decrease on a proper diet.

This is a very interesting theory. It would be interesting to know how the drives of the average person vary from that of those who eat all raw foods. It also makes me think that it might be really wise to eat more raw foods during flu season, so that the body is not spread too thin, trying to fight of disease. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks--It is actually a hypothesis, not a theory--just an observation, no studies done.

An interesting theory but there is such a variety of people who want sex when they are older with both eating the same diet that I don't think it is relevant. Often one spouse wants sex and the other has lost the desire. I think eating a vegetarian diet is the healthiest thing to do primarily with raw food but then I think when people feel better and younger that the have a greater sexual appetite, not less. I don't think there is anything wrong with having sex with your spouse even when you are older. It is an interesting theory though.

It's not a theory. It's an hypothesis--never tested, just an observation, a thought based on just a little evidence, no much.

This was very interesting. I think I understand the hypothesis and I am wondering what you think about this.

I am not a vegetarian, and I also eat mostly cooked foods. If I try to add a raw side food to my meals do you think that I can still benefit some? Would enzymes from raw foods help to "cheat" some?

I'm sorry to be lazy, but I am being realistic about myself.

Can I have my cake and my enzymes too?

Sure it will help--but eat your raw food first, then your cooked.
